Financial dignity nonprofit Operation HOPE begins financial triage for individuals affected by Hurricane Sandy
Atlanta – November 1, 2012 – While Hurricane Sandy wreaked havoc throughout the north eastern seaboard, Operation HOPE ramped up efforts to help residents recover from the disaster, through its preparedness and recovery division, HOPE Coalition America (HCA), opening toll-free hotlines for those affected by the torrential storm. The financial dignity nonprofit announced a Working Group Session today dedicated to disaster recovery and the availability for individuals and small business owners to get help 24/7 by calling 888-388-HOPE (4673) for assistance with the following challenges:
- Disaster Recovery Budget
- Paying a Mortgage on a Destroyed Home
- Home Inspections and Repair Contracts
- Assistance with Working with Your Creditors
- Referrals to Government and Private Agencies
- Assistance with Obtaining Copies of Destroyed Documents
- Insurance Claims Assistance
- Recovery Seminars and Case Management
HCA is a collaborative effort that allows knowledgeable, responsible individuals employed in the regulated financial services industry to provide one-on-one assistance to individuals and families recovering from disasters.
“Hurricane Sandy will require individuals to make important financial decisions that will affect their recovery time and we want them to have the information and guidance they need to make informed decisions,” said John Hope Bryant, Operation HOPE’s founder and CEO, in addressing the value of HOPE’s disaster recovery services. “As we celebrate 20 years of delivering financial dignity to underserved communities, it important to note that financial economic preparedness is a growing concern, which Operation HOPE has been at the forefront of addressing.”
On November 15th, HOPE will host a Working Group Session at the HOPE Global Financial Dignity Summit on the “New Space: Emergency Economic Disaster Preparedness, Response and Recovery” Co-Chaired by Tim Manning, Deputy Administrator of the National Preparedness Directorate, FEMA and Vicky Dinges (Vice President, Public Social Responsibility and Enterprise Communication, Allstate Insurance) during the HOPE Global Financial Dignity Summit.
