John Hope Bryant, CEO and founder of Operation HOPE Inc., says, "Business and political leaders are ignoring the one force that could truly re-energize the stalled American economy: the poor. If we give poor communities the right tools, policies and inspiration, they will be able to lift themselves up into the middle class and become a new generation of customers and entrepreneurs."

I'm encouraging Tom Keith, whose letter, “Capitalism is beyond repair,” Jan. 16, 2015, to read Mr. Bryant's book, "How the Poor Can Save Capitalism." Henry Ford was smart enough to pay his workers a wage high enough to purchase the automobiles they were building.

We all depend upon each other. Restoring hope can get people improving and so moving forward, not stagnating. This results in a better America for all of us.
