NYSE Euronext Encourages Financial Literacy Empowerment with $75,000 Contribution to Operation HOPE

LOS ANGELES – August 23, 2010 – John Hope Bryant, founder, chairman and chief executive officer of financial literacy empowerment nonprofit Operation HOPE (HOPE) announced today that NYSE Euronext (NYX) will provide Operation HOPE with a $75,000 donation for financial literacy education and support to underserved areas. The contribution is another example of NYSE Euronext’s commitment to assist HOPE in its quest to eradicate poverty and reduce the number of underserved and unbanked in America and worldwide.

Operation HOPE’s Financial Literacy Empowerment Educational Program Banking on Our Future Reaches 500K Youth

LOS ANGELES – August 26, 2010 – Operation HOPE (HOPE) Chairman, Founder and CEO John Hope Bryant announced this week that their Financial Literacy Empowerment Educational Program Banking on Our Future (BOOF), the nation's leading urban delivery system for financial literacy empowerment, reached a momentous milestone by surpassing the 500K youth educated mark in the U.S. and South Africa. Since creating the program in 1996, HOPE has educated and empowered 501,726 youth in dignity, the real wealth of an individual, and the basics of banking, credit, and investments through their award-winning financial literacy curriculum.

Good memories never grow old.  The Operation HOPE family was honored to host my fellow YGL (Forum of Young Global Leader), friend and CEO of BBDO New York, John Osborn, for a CEO Leadership Discussion at our Operation HOPE Financial Literacy Empowerment Center in Harlem. John did an incredible job that evening, and was well received by all who attended.  Thank you John for all that you do to "bridge the gaps" that needlessly separate our society.

Operation HOPE launches metro Atlanta mortgage, credit hotlines

Considering the huge footprint of the nonprofit organization CredAbility, it seemed unusual that national player Operation HOPE would launch regional mortgage and consumer credit crisis hotlines here.

That was, until founder John Hope Bryant put things in sobering perspective: “There’s enough poverty to go around.”

Less of a competitor and more of a complement to the services provided by CredAbility and others, Operation HOPE will target both the financially strapped and those too emotionally downtrodden to fight back. The California-based organization recently rolled out a slate of services to be provided to disenfranchised local residents. A permanent home office is being built near Ebenezer Baptist Church, Bryant said.
